Skytrax announced the winner of its annual World Airport Awards on 27th March 2019 at the Passenger Terminal Expo in London, England. For travelers looking for a pleasant airport experience, Asia remains the best bet.
Singapore’s Changi is the planet’s best airport for the seventh straight year, according to the latest rankings by Skytrax. It’s followed by Tokyo’s Haneda, Seoul’s Incheon and Doha’s Hamad, with Hong Kong rounding out the top five.
This is the first time in the history of the awards that an airport has won this title for seven consecutive years. Changi Airport was also the repeat winner of the award for the Best Airport Leisure Amenities.
“Changi Airport is honored to again be named World’s Best Airport,” Lee Seow Hiang, Changi Airport Group CEO, said in a statement. “We thank our passengers for their continued support. Their vote of confidence motivates us in our pursuit of service excellence and pushes us to continue redefining what an airport can be.”
Changi is one of Southeast Asia’s largest transit hubs and is a major cog in Singapore’s bustling economy.
