Kepulauan Seribu National Park (KSNP) and Wakatobi National Park (WNP) were officially declared as ASEAN Heritage Parks (AHP).
These two parks were officially nominated during the 14th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Environment in Brunei in September. Atty. Roberto Oliva who is an executive director of the Asean Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) said that

Wakatobi National Park has highest diversity of corals and marine resources in the world. Kepulauan Seribu National Park (KSNP) is composed with 78 islands with fresh vegetation and has complete coastal ecosystem, coastal forest, mangroves, seagrass and coral reefs.
